What does it mean be Short or Long Waisted?

Another element in understanding your vertical body type is if you don't know whether you are long waisted or short waisted. A great clue if you have it wrong is that you find you have trouble finding jeans or trousers that fit correctly.  They may not feel comfortable and you are constantly pulling at your waistband. You could also find yourself pulling at your shirt or jacket hems.

How to measure your Waist Proportions

  1. Hip to Bust - Measure from your hip line to the tip of your bust

  2. Bust to Head - Measure from the tip of your bust to the top of your head

Write these measurements down


Now look at the possibilities and match your Waist Type

SHORT WAIST TIDBIT

If you are short waisted try petite clothing. This has been specially designed for short waisted women. 

You don't have to be skinny or short to be petite.
