Your Color Analysis

Not many women have considered their own color analysis. Choosing the right colors can be the difference between looking healthy or unhealthy, thin or fat, short or tall.

When considering what suits us, most of us just choose a color that we like rather than what suits us best.  What is important to consider is your hair color, your skin tone and the color of your eyes.

It's fine to choose your favourite color. The catch is to get the right shade. If your favourite color is blue, there are a miriad of blues from warm  to cool tones to choose from to get your best look.

There are a few different ways you can do a color analysis.

The most well known is Seasonal Color Analysis which will place your colors into the four categories:
  • Winter or Summer are considered cool categories
  • Spring or Autumn are considered warm.

You can do Flow Color Analysis which is a seasonal color analysis at a much deeper level. (It has 12 categories instead of 4) for people who fall into more than one season.

You can also look at a Tonal Analysis where your colours are divided into pigments or 3 categories.
  • Warm - Yellow/orange tones
  • Cool - Blue/red tones
  • Neutral  - Both warm and cool shades.

The great thing is that you can still pick your favourite colors as all colors are not either warm or cool. For example:
  • Red with a yellow content is considered a warm red.
  • Red with a blue content is considered a cool red.
  • A true red, one that has neither a yellow nor a blue content, is considered a “neutral” red.

It's all about understanding your own coloring and knowing where your hair, skin and eye tones fall. Then you can choose your best red, your best blue, your best colors. As an intro, have a look at the color analysis grid below for a great simple guideline on choosing your best colors.
